16 Day / 15 Nights Tour Program
Yangon – Inlay – Pindaya – Mandalay – Bagan – Golden Rock – Yangon
Day 1 – Arrival in Yangon. Meet and greet by the guide at the airport on arrival. Transfer to hotel. General sightseeing in Yangon. Overnight at the Hotel in Yangon.
Day 2 – Sightseeing in Yangon; starting from Kyaukhtatkyi Pagoda and drive to Kalaway monastery to watch lunch taking ceremony. Then on the way back visit Sasana Cave. After lunch Sule Pagoda and general sightseeing including British colonial style architecture and china town. Sunset over famous Shwedagon Pagoda. Overnight at the Hotel in Yangon.
Day 3 – Morning flight to Heho and drive to Inlay Lake. Morning excursion by boat on the lake, famous for its traditional leg rowers, the fisherman’s interesting method of fishing and visit Indein Village. Overnight at the Hotel in Inle Lake.
Day 4 – Morning boat transfer to jetty. 1 hr. drive Kakku and visit there. Back to Inle. Overnight at Hotel in Inle Lake.
Day 5 – Drive to Pindaya by car. Arrive Pindaya with many beautiful scenes of typical Shan State village life on the way. Visit Pindaya caves with their thousands of Buddha images. Lunch, and then a visit to the Shan paper makers and umbrella workshop. Overnight at the Hotel in Pindaya.
Day 6 – Breakfast, Drive Pindaya and make a sightseeing in Pindaya cave.Flight to Mandalay. Arrive at Mandalay and transfer hotel. Overnigt stay at Hotel in Mandalay.
Day 7 – Visit the famous Mahamuni Paya, traditional handicraft workshops; marble wor and wood carving. Including gold leaf marking, Shwenandaw-an old wooden Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda, and a gorgeous view from Mandalay Hill. Overnight at Hotel in Mandalay.
Day 8 – Breakfast, Excursion by boat to Mingun, the world’s largest ringing bell and the unfinished Mingun Temple. An hour boat ride each way with typical scenes of “life on the river” Back to Mandalay. Excursion to the ancient capital of Amarapura, Mahagandayon Monastery ( where more than 700 monks live ) and the old teak- wood U Pein Bridge. Visit to the traditional silk weaving industry. Overnight Hotel in Mandalay.
Day 9 – Early morning transfer to Mandalay jetty. Depart Mandalay by boat to Bagan. With an early evening arrival, the trip affords the traveler rarely seen views of traditional river life along the bank of the Ayeyawady. An arrival at Bagan with transfers to the hotel.Overnight at Hotel in Bagan.
Day 10 – Proceed for sightseeing starting with the busy local market and continuing with visits to Shwezigon Pagoda, built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century, Kubyanukgyi, a temple, Khay Minga Temple, Anada Temple with four huge standing Buddha images workshop. Sightseeing to Manuha temple, built in Mon style in 1059, Nanbaya temple, a unique sandstone monument, said to have been the palace of king Manuha and Myingaba Gu Byaukgyi. Proceed to Bupaya Pagoda or Mingala Zedi Stupa to watch sunset over the Ayeyarwaddy River. Overnight Hotel in Bagan.
Day 11 – In the morning visit the site of Tayokepyay Temple in Min Nan Thu Village, Phaya Thone Zu and Nandamanya Temples noted for exquisite murals of 13th century and Kyat Kan Cave monastery, a famous meditation center in Bagan. Visit farming villages around Bagan. Sightseeing continues after lunch with an excursion by boat on the Ayeyarwady to the nostalgic Nathtaung Kyaung, a wooden monastery built in 1781 by a group of monks, famous for woodcarvings, a collection of ancient Buddha statues and lacquer boxes. Overnight Hotel in Yangon.
Day 12 – Morning visit in Bagan’ monuments. Evening transfer to airport for Bagan- Yangon. Transfer to hotel. O/N hotel in Yangon.
Day 13 – Pick – up at the hotel and drive to Bago (84Km- 11/2 hour0. En route, visit to the Allied War Graves Cemetery near Htaukkyan, a handicraft village producing woven bamboo wares, a tree shrine dedicated to a legendary “ Nat” and to Kyaik Pun Pagoda, famous for its four giant Buddhas. In Bago sightseeing includes the Shwemanwdaw Pagoda, over a thousand year old; its spire is even taller than Shwedagon Pagoda. After lunch, continue to Kin Pun. ‘ Base camp’ (110Km – 31/2 hours) and onward to Kyaiktiyo, the ‘Golden Rock’ a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaves and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. From Kin Pun, a steep and rough 11 Km dirt road leads to the upper staging point, a journey made in open trucks, which are very crowded. From the ‘upper area’ travelers must, at present, walk the final stage, approx. 4Km, up steep path which ascend some 500m to the Golden Rock. As an easier alternative to.Overnight at the Kyaikhto Hotel.
Day 14 – Driver back to Yangon and overnight at the Hotel in Yangon.
Day 15 – Transfer to Airport for departure.

Day 1 – Arrival Yangon

Brdakfast at hotel. Your journey begins with a tour through Yangon’s colonial – style city center. A ‘ HAMSA-BIRD-SHAPED’ floating barge on Kandawgyi (Royal) lake: stroll through the BOGYOKE ( SCOTTS) MARKET with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrajts and gems stores. Complete your day with an extended visit to one of the world’s most spectacular monuments. The SHWEDAGON PAGODA.

Day 3 – YANGON – HEHO – PINDAYA – KALAW
After breakfast, transfer to airport for domestic flight to Heho. Upon arrival at Heho airport, drive (60km – 2 hours) to PINDAYA and visit PINDAYA CAVES, a unique site housing thousands of Buddha images placed there by pilgrims over the centuries. In the afternoon, continue (48km – 1 ½ hours) to kalaw, a fresh and delightful hill station, on the rim of the Shan Plateau, which is a market center for ethnic minorities from surrounding regions. Day 4 – KALAW – NYAUNG SHWE – INLE LAKE
After breakfast, visit the local market where a wide range of local produce may be seen and also visit to the railway station. Proceed by road to NYAUNG SHWE ( 62 km – 1 ½ hour) and continue by boat to your hotel for check in. Excursion by bat on Inle Lake will include sights of the famous leg rowers, typical floation gardens. Local methods of fishing, village life and magnificent scenery. Visit are made to PHAUNGDAW OO PAGODA; the weaving village of INPAWKHON and to one of the local markets in the Inle Lake region ( on the market days only).

Day 5 – INLE LAKE – HEHO – MANDALAY
After breakfast,board your boat to the Western shore of the lake where you will find the beginning of a stair path leading to the hidden and unknown Inn Thein pagoda complex. Visit one of the most amazing historical sights on the shore of the lake consisting of hundreds of small stupas overgrown by moss and greens. Continue on foot to a village nearby where several crops are grown in traditional ways. Walk in an easy pace along one of the many creeks passing through rice fields to the village of Sae Ma. Visit the primary school of the village and possibility to meet the children and teachers to observe their way of learning and teaching. (Note: on School days only). Later step in a wooden canoe for an exciting ride down a narrow creek until you reach the Paung Daw Oo Pagoda. Walk across to the weaving village of THA LAY where a traditional home cooked Shan lunch will be served in a local Inn Thar house. Enjoy eating as the locals do, on the floor and from low tables.
Transfer by boat to Nyaung Shwe. Continue by car to HEHO ( 25km – 1 hour) and domestic flight to MANDALAY. Upon arrival, transfer to hotel. Lunch and dinner to own account.

Day 6 – MANDALAY – AVA – MANDALAY
After breakfast, experience the sights and sounds of Mandalay including one of the most revered religious monuments in Myanmar, the MAHAMUNI PAGODA; the SHWE INBIN MONASTERY; the GOLDEN PALACE MONASTERY, a superb example of a tradintional wooden building and KUTHODAW PAGODA the world’s largest book made of marble. Day 7 – MANDALAY – RV PANDAW 1947
Breakfast at hotel. Transfer to the jetty at 11.30 amand you will board RV Pandaw in time for lunch. Commence your overnight river journey on board of the RV PANDAW 1947 to Bagan. Relax on board while observing the diverse river life and the magnificent scenery.

Day 8 – RV PAUKAN 2007
After breakfast on board, steam downstream to YANDABO. Go for a walk at this delightful village without proper road access thatis a thriving community of pottery makers. The people live a simple life style making a variety of clay products which they barter trade for other commodities. Visit the village monastery that has existed on the same site for over 400 years. Cruise past the Chindwin confluence. In the late afternoon you will dock in THEIN GONE, a typical farming village set on western riverbank 10km South of Pakkoku. Visit the monastery and school.

Day 9 – RV PAUKAN 2007 –BAGAN
After breakfast on board, set sail for the final leg of your river journey to BAGAN where you will meet your guide and transfer to your hotel. In the afternoon, pick up at your hotel by horse cart and venture out to some of the more off-the-beaten track temples and pagodas. We don’t follow the trotted trails but take you over dusty roads and small paths through one thousand years of history.

Day 10 – BAGAN
After early breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for domestic flight to BAGAN. Upon arrival, starting your day with visits to the most significant pagodasand temples of Bagan including SHWEZIGON PAGODA, BUILT BY King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine; KU BYANUK GYI, a temple with superb murals of Jataka scenes; KHAY MIN GA TEMPLE, noted for its panoramic view of the area’s numerous monuments and ANANDA TEMPLE, with four standing Buddha images.
In the afternoon visit one of Myanmar’s most treasured handicrafts, a lacquerware craftsmen’s workshop in nearby MYINKABA village. You will continue to MANUHA TEMPLE, built in the Mon style in 1059 and follow on to NANGBAYA TEMPLE, a unique sandstone monument said to have been the palace of King Manuha. Proceed to BUPAYA PAGODA or MINGALAZEDI STUPA to watch the sunset over the famous Ayeyarwaddy River.

Day 11 – BAGAN – YANGON

Day 1: Yangon, the Capital of Myanmar
Fly from Bangkok to Yangon by Thai Airways or any other airline. Your English- speaking guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. He will accompany with you during the whole trip. Later you can have a sightseeing tour of Yangon which includes the Sule Pagoda in the center of the city, the old colonial buildings in the downtown area, the Botataung Pagoda on the waterfront and the Strand Hotel for tea (if time permits). In the evening, visit the world-famous Shwedagon Pagoda to enjoy the sunset.
Day 2: YANGON – MANDALAY
Mandalay, the Last Imperial City
Fly to Mandalay by Air Bagan/Air Mandalay/Yangon Air. The flight will take approx. 2 hours. From Mandalay Airport, it takes about one hour by car to your hotel. After lunch, sightseeing starts with Zay Cho market and, if time permits, the Einedawyar Pagoda. From there on to the Kuthodaw Pagoda with its 729 marble slabs which are also known as the World’s Biggest Book, then to the Golden Palace Monastery with its fine wood carving, which was a part of King Mindon’s Palace. We will watch the sun set over the city from the terraces of Mandalay Hill.
Day 3: MANDALAY – AMARAPURA – SAGAING – MANDALAY
Other Former Imperial Cities near Mandalay
After breakfast, visit the famous Mahamuni Pagoda with its huge golden Buddha image, and then visit the traditional arts and crafts of Mandalay: the carvings in marble and wood, the bronze foundries, and the production of gold leaf.
Then we will drive you to royal city of Amarapura with its Mahagandayone Monastery where you observe the lives and the education of monks. Then proceed to the royal city of Sagaing in order to enjoy the panoramic view of Mandalay and the Ayeyarwady River from the Sagaing Hills, which are studded with temples and monasteries. Finally you can return to Amarapura to visit the world’s longest wooden bridge, U Bein Bridge, and watch the sun set over its lake. Then return to Mandalay for dinner.
Day 4: MANDALAY – BAGAN (BY EXPRESS BOAT)
A Day on the Mighty Ayeyarwady River
Early morning transfer to the jetty for Shwekeinnayi Express boat to Bagan. The cruise will take approximately 10hours. On arrival, transfer to your hotel.
Day 5: Bagan
After breakfast, we will start our sightseeing by car which includes a colorful open market, Gubyaukgyi (Watkyi Inn), the impressive Shwezigon Pagoda, the beautiful Ananda Temple, the tall Thabyinnyu Temple, the massive Damayangyi Temple, and the white Bu Pagoda on the Ayeyarwady River for a sunset view.
Day 6: Bagan – Mt. Popa – Bagan
In the morning, drive to Mt. Popa. On the way to Mt. Popa, stop for a glance at the life of the palm climbers. In the evening, we will take a boat up to Kyaukgu Umin Temple for looking a cave temple made of sand stone and on the way back, we will see the sun set over the Ayeyarwady River.
Day 7: Bagan – Heho – Lake Inle
Lake Inle in Southern Shan State; for some Relaxing Days on one of the Most Beautiful Lakes of the World
In the morning, fly to Heho (the airport for the lake). Then take a car from there to Nyaungshwe, the main town and starting point to the lake. And transfer to your hotel by boat.
Sightseeing tour of Lake Inle starts with a visit of the spectacular floating gardens and aquatic life of the lake. Visit the famous Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, the Ngaphechaung (jumping cats) Monastery, a cheroot factory and some fishermen villages. Late in the afternoon return to your hotel.
Day 8: Lake Inle Region – Indein Village
After breakfast, sightseeing by boat to a colorful local market then by boat up the narrow and scenic Nam Pilu River to the village of Indein to visit some ancient stupas in Pa-O territory. The Pa-O tribe is the largest minority in Shan State. After lunch, visit by boat to one of the local villages on stilts.
Day 9: HEHO – YANGON
In the morning, drive to Heho Airport for your return to Yangon. After you have checked into your hotel, you could visit the Reclining Buddha, and the Bogyoke Aung San Market for handicraft and souvenirs. In the evening, you may want to stroll through lively China Town.
Day 10: Yangon – Bangkok
Transfer to the airport.

Continue with a visit of traditional silk weaving and tapestry making factories. Visit handicraft workshops, marble works and woodcarvings. Continue with the visit to U Bein Wooden Bridge, the drive over Ava Bridge across the Ayeyarwaddy to picturesque Sagaing Hills, a retreat for Buddhist devotees with numerous Pagodas and Monasteries.
